Mitsubishi Electric has been in the solar electric field since its infancy in the 70s, when they made the first solar panels to provide power to satellites. They continue to lead the industry with their photovoltaic modules, designed both for commercial and residential grid-tie applications. Mitsubishi Electric has perfected a manufacturing process that limits the use of harmful lead solder by using silver electrodes on the surface of their solar panels. This proprietary technology makes their panels especially weather resistant. It also allows panels to uniformly reflect the sun’s rays, improving cell efficiency. Solar panels with high efficiency make the best use of limited space, and lower costs by reducing the number of modules needed. Their newest panels boast an efficiency rating of 13.7 percent.
