DC – DC converters are used to decrease or increase the converter's DC input voltage. A typical use of a DC DC converter is to step down a 24-volt input to a 12-volt output, thus allowing common 12-volt electronics to be powered by a 24-volt electrical system.
These efficient DC-to-DC converters provide a highly regulated output DC voltage. The Samlex IDC-100B-12 converter provides an output DC voltage of 12.5 volts to a DC input voltage range of 20-35 volts with an output current of 8 amps. The Samlex IDC-100A-24 converter provides an output DC voltage of 24 volts to a DC input voltage range of 9-18 volts with an output current of 4 amps. Each is a 100 watt, fully isolated converter for applications that require galvanic isolation between input and output.
These converters are great for heavy equipment and trucks, buses and marine applications. They are also recommended for use with CB radios, 12 or 24 volt lighting systems and AM/FM radio systems.
