4 Star Solar Backup Generator Disconnect 100A Relay

PV systems with backup generators installed require extra protection to prevent the grid-tied inverter from feeding power into the generator. When the generator supplies power to your household load panel it can trick the grid-tied inverter into sensing utility power and turning on. 4 Star Solar’s Backup Generator Disconnect Relay is designed to turn off the grid-tied inverter system to prevent backfeeding a generator. This pre-wired assembly includes a 100 amp relay which senses utility power and automatically disconnects and isolates the grid-tied inverter system whenever utility power is lost. Note that this is only required when both the generator and grid-tied inverter are connected to the same side of your utility service, please contact us for help deciding if this is right for your application.
