SolarEdge Cellular GSM Kit & Data Plans

SolarEdge cellular GSM kits are used to connect SolarEdge inverters wirelessly to the Internet for monitoring through the monitoring portal to enable remote analysis and troubleshooting. This is the ideal solution for monitoring inverters located in remote locations where internet access via a local area network (LAN) is not possible. The GSM kit connects to a SolarEdge single phase inverter and transmits data via a cellular network to the SolarEdge monitoring portal. This kit can work with a single inverter with up to 60 power optimizers and 2 meters. System data is sampled every 15 minutes and sent to the SolarEdge server every 4 hours. The SE-GSM-R12-US-S1 includes a 12-year SolarEdge data plan.

About SolarEdge

The SolarEdge System pushes the envelope in the continuing endeavor to improve gridtie solar power generation. In a SolarEdge System, a DC to DC Power optimizer is paired with each solar panel in an array, allowing each one to operate independently at its highest efficiency.

Benefits to a SolarEdge System include:

Compare the SolarEdge System to other systems

Unlike traditional gridtie systems, microinverter solar power systems have many of the same benefits listed above. Like SolarEdge Power Optimizers, microinverters control the output of each solar panel with Maximum Power Tracking. While microinverters optimize DC power and convert it to AC power, Power Optimizers offer DC to DC power optimization. One great advantage to SolarEdge Power Optimizers is that they can accommodate higher power solar panels and larger string sizes.

A traditional gridtie system is similar to a SolarEdge system in that it has a centralized inverter responsible for DC to AC conversion. Some prefer traditional gridtie systems because the inverters are more accessible than microinverters. Others prefer to use a system with proven technology that has been around awhile.

Monitoring Options
