The Wildland Firefighter Foundation’s main focus is to provide help to families of firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty, and to assist injured firefighters and their families.
The WFF is a national organization that provides surviving families with financial assistance, grief counseling, and a supportive community to connect and heal. Among other programs, they run Camp Hope, a retreat for Wildland children, and their annual Family Fire Weekend in Boise, ID. These gatherings provide families with much-needed opportunities to grieve, heal and honor their fallen family members.
This cause is something that resonates deeply with many of us here at Wholesale Solar.
We are based in Mount Shasta, a small town in the heart of the Northern California forest. After enduring one of the worst fire seasons in our history, we were again reminded how grateful we are to the firefighters who work tirelessly to protect our homes, our communities, and our natural resources.
So we started to think of ways we could give back. After some research, we came across the Wildland Firefighter Foundation
We liked that they had a 94/100 score on Charity Navigator, a site that rates charities based on their transparency, efficiency, and integrity. And we wanted to be sure our contribution would go directly to firefighters and their families—which is a core part of WFF’s mission.
We reached out to them and agreed to donate 5% of our profits from now through December 25th, 2018. It is the least we can do to help the firefighters who risk their lives to keep us safe.
