Most currently available residential and commercial solar panels are pre-wired with sunlight resistant, weatherproof power output wires. They are designed with a locking feature and make installation easier.

The earliest versions of these extension cables, now being phased out, are called MC3 or Solarline 1. Some solar panels still have MC3's. The two current types in use are MC4, or Solarline 2, and Tyco locking connectors. They both serve the same purpose, to extend the built-in cables on your panels and to lock them together so they don't come apart in high wind or if snagged.

While MC4's and Tycos look similar they are not compatible. Be sure you order the correct ones. MC4's are sort of rectangular while Tycos are more cylyndrical. If you are unsure what you need, call a Wholesale Solar Tech at 800 / 472-1142. if you're looking for fuses, please go to the fuses page?
